SLP / SPEECH PATH / SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
General job duties. Types of procedures required. The staff Speech-Language Pathologist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides speech therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments for outpatient and inpatient populations ranging from adolescent to geriatric in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining a high degree of quality patient care.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) Electronic documentation (EPIC/Medilinks), video swallow, vital stim.
Required skills and minimum years of experience. Evaluate and provide treatment to patients with communication, eating/swallowing and cognitive disorders. Review and interpret video swallow studies, and provide Rx recommendations. Graduation from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) Graduation from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology. Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Wisconsin. CPR certification required.
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) 40 hour work week. Weekends not required, but being available for call a bonus.
Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) Inpatient care as needed.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. There is a private office/Rx area specifically designated and equipped for Speech-Language patients.

Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Training will be provided regarding hospital and department policies and procedures. Therapists will also be provided training in documentation.
Additional Comments: State of the art hospital with newly renovated rehabilitation facility. The facility is also adjacent to an 18,000 square foot medically based fitness facility.
