Speech Language Pathologist

trustaff is currently seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time, direct-hire position with a medical facility located in Scottsbluff, NE. Shift details will be discussed in interview. Required to FLOAT all areas as needed. Must have current BLS/BCLS. Hospital experience and /or inpatient rehab with competency in video fluoroscopy swallow evaluations. Ability to interact well with patients, family, public, physician, and other staff regardless of age, color, creed, race, or diagnosis. Progressive levels of expertise will require one or more of the following: work experience, self-study, special certification or post-professional education. Hand/eye coordination and precise movement to perform diagnostic tests, and to perform specific exercises and treatment motions. Ability to communicate effectively and positively with patients, families, and other health personnel. Must understand patient and family dynamics on a motivational and analytical level. Demonstrates the willingness to work with a variety of patients Ability to interact effectively with patients from a variety of ethnic, sociological, and cultural backgrounds, and from different age groups. Ability to move between patients and patient care areas and other departments, and to contracted facilities to complete treatments. Must be able to perform and assist with patient transfers, and to move and use equipment as needed to provide treatment to patients. Ability to concentrate on and process complex tasks and information, and formulate appropriate plan of action. Ability to assess and comprehend a variety of patient disabilities through auditory, visual, tactile and verbal modes, and to be able to select appropriate tests, treatments and teaching strategies. Must assimilate information from various sources, analyze the information and form the patient treatment plan. Visual acuity required to assess patient and perform treatments. Tactile acuity needed to complete treatments and assessments. Qualified hires can receive up to a $5,000 sign-on AND another $5,000 each additional year worked (up to five years).
