Our client is a large health care system including hospitals, outpatient centers, rehabilitation centers, and home care that has a need for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist in the Norfolk, Virginia area. The position is in a Home Care opportunity and a direct hire position.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client’s division, Home Care Services, is currently seeking Speech Language Pathologists.  Assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and accurately provides Speech Therapy (SLP) evaluations, develops and implements SLP treatment plans; provides education and information to patients and caregivers; participates in required discharge planning and completes all required documentation according to policy.  The SLP supervises and assumes responsibility for care provided by rehab aides.  Therapists may be assigned other duties such as clinical instructor for student affiliations, performance improvement, and program development.

QUALIFICATIONS: Therapists must have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Speech Language Pathology and appropriate course work in speech and audiology; must have current licensure in the state of Virginia. Other requirements include BLS completion within 3 months of hire.  Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to operate and apply therapeutic equipment; ability to lift/push/pull light to heavy equipment, supplies, and patients; creativity and problem solving skills.

SALARY: $52,124 DOE. Salary scale is a national projection, so it may vary depending on geographic location. Specific information will be provided upon preliminary screening with our client.
